STOP ABUSE OF CIRCUS ANIMALS

animal_rights_foundation_florida_logo_nyreblog_com_.gifThis week, take action for circus animals!

Call and email your U.S. Representative today to protect wild animals abused in circuses. Support the Traveling Exotic Animal Protection Act (H.R.3359).

Animals in the circus live miserable lives of deprivation, confinement and abuse. In the circus, virtually all of animal's natural behaviors are thwarted. Elephants, tigers, bears and other animals in the circus suffer from constant travel, abusive training, and social isolation.

You Can Help
This week, please ask your representative in Congress to support and co-sponsor the Traveling Exotic Animal Protection Act (H.R. 3359), a landmark federal bill that aims to protect elephants, tigers, bears and other wild animals from being forced to perform in traveling circuses. H.R. 3359 would amend the Animal Welfare Act to restrict the use of exotic and non-domesticated animals in traveling circuses and exhibitions.

Sample text (it's best to use your own words):

Dear Representative _____:

As a constituent who cares deeply about the well-being of animals, I strongly urge you to support and co-sponsor H.R. 3359, the Traveling Exotic Animal Protection Act. This important bill will protect wild and exotic animals in traveling circuses and exhibitions.

Several Florida cities and countries around the world including Austria, Sweden, Costa Rica and Bolivia have taken action to prohibit the use of wild animals in circuses. The U.K. is on the verge of passing a ground-breaking ban. It's time for the United States to step up and take action.

ARFF is participating, along with many animal organizations across the country, in a joint effort to flood Congress with calls and emails this week. Even if you have already contacted your Representative, please call today!

Visit FederalCircusBill.org for more information about H.R. 3359.

Please share with ARFF any responses that you receive in response to your phone call or email.
