I'm passing along this quick note to let you know some exciting news.* Our efforts to protect animals and prosecute their abusers have led to the Animal Legal Defense Fund naming us one of the Top Ten Animal Defenders in the nation! As you probably know, going after those who abuse animals has been one of my top priorities as district attorney. These innocent victims need a voice. I'll always be proud to stand up for them and to arrest and prosecute their abusers. I strongly believe that it will take nothing short of that level of commitment from our community and from law enforcement agencies to deter these crimes and to create a more thoughtful dialogue about how we can protect these highly vulnerable victims.
