Dear Friend,
When I began this campaign for governor, I vowed to go beyond what is required by the law when it comes to ethics, openness and transparency.
I released my 2009 and 2010 tax returns when I filed last week, and I challenged Pat McCrory and the other candidates to follow my lead.
Today, I am making good on my promise to be open and honest with our citizens by releasing my 2011 tax returns. The law doesn't require that I do that, but I am because it is the right thing to do.
Pat McCrory has refused to release his own tax returns.
Again, I challenge Pat McCrory to do right by the voters, come out of the shadows, and release his own tax returns.
North Carolina deserves honest, open and transparent leadership. Our citizens deserve a Governor who will stand up for what is right and not simply accept the status quo.
Thanks,
Bob Etheridge
