Dear Lucas,
As you may know, our No Bad Apples PAC has already awarded its first endorsement! Reform Democrat Lew Fidler is running for State Senate in southern Brooklyn, in a special election for the district that was represented by disgraced ex-Senator Carl Kruger, one of the original 'bad apples'.
I said from the very beginning of No Bad Apples that if Carl Kruger had run for reelection, I would have done everything I could to stop him - but U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara beat me to it, indicting Carl on corruption charges and then securing Carl's guilty plea. That cleared the way for a special election to send Lew Fidler -- a new, good-government Democrat -- to represent the people of southern Brooklyn in Albany.
And Lew Fidler isn't just a good apple, he's a great apple - a dedicated City Councilman with a record of integrity and a well-earned reputation as a straight shooter. I can't wait for Lew to join me in Albany and help fight for reform.
But we need your help: Lew's special election is on Tuesday, March 20th - less than two weeks away. Now is the critical time for us to stand up for Lew, volunteer, and help send him to Albany!
Here's how you can help:
·Phone Calls: Weekdays, anytime 10am-9pm
Door-knocking: Saturdays and Sundays, starting at noon
You can sign up here , or contact the Fidler Campaign directly by calling Tom Schnurr: 718-759-6631.
Thanks so much for your help and for helping me change Albany for the better.
