GIVE ISSA A PROPER NEW YORK WELCOME!

Congressman Ed Towns is holding a hearing on the foreclosure crisis at Borough Hall in Brooklyn on Monday.  And one of the panelists he invited to the hearing is a man who helped trigger this country's economic crisis - Congressman Darrell Issa.

Congressman Issa is the chair of the House Oversight Committee. And he's used that power to defending his friends who are executives at the Big Banks that triggered the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression.

In fact Issa bought Goldman Sachs High Yield Bonds worth up to $50,000 each in 2010 while, at the same time, pressed strongly to thwart an SEC investigation into potential wrongdoing at Goldman Sachs.

Congressman Issa is the second wealthiest member of Congress.  And he's coming to Brooklyn to defend the banks against the foreclosure crisis that is destroying our communities.

So let's make sure Mr. Issa gets a proper New York a welcome! Join us at Borough Hall at 9 AM on Monday --click here to RSVP.

Right now, 11 million homeowners nationwide are under water - which means they owe more on their mortgage than the actual value of their homes.  If the banks to wrote down these mortgages to the amount the homes are worth and provided assistance to families facing foreclosure our economy would be on the path to recovery. But folks like Congressmen Towns and Issa don't think that's as important as defending the wealthiest 1%.

Let's welcome Darrell Issa to Brooklyn by telling him what the people demand.

On Monday, Darrell Issa will be taking part in a dog-and-pony show hearing about the foreclosure crisis.  And New York Communities for Change will be there to welcome him to Brooklyn. But we can't do this without you.  We need you at Borough Hall on Monday morning. Please RSVP for the event and share widely!

See you Monday Morning!

Best,
