Dear Friend,
MoveOn is joining forces with activist, award-winning writer, and The Guardian blogger Kevin Powell to host a community forum tomorrow (Sunday) for Trayvon Martin, the young black man killed while simply walking home from a local convenience store in Florida.
At the gathering, Hip Hop artist & activist Jasiri X will perform a powerful new track, "A Song for Trayvon," LIVE, which calls for the arrest of Trayvon's murderer, and we'll be shooting a video of the performance to distribute to millions of people on Monday. Many of your favorite local musicians are donating their time to back up Jasiri X in what is sure to be an emotional and unforgettable performance and prayer for justice.
We need as many folks as possible to come for the video shoot! Please come, and please bring homemade signs calling for justice for Trayvon if you can.
Here's the info: "A Song for Trayvon"
Time: 7pm sharp
Date: TOMORROW, Sunday, March 25
Place: House of the Lord, 415 Atlantic Ave, Between Bond & Nevins, Brooklyn, NY, 11217
Bring: Signs calling for justice for Trayvon
As of this moment, George Zimmerman, the man who shot and killed 16 year old Trayvon Martin, has still not been arrested. Please help us spread the word and show the world that we will not be silent in the face of this injustice.
I hope I see you there.
