This September, Manhattan voters will have the opportunity to elect an experienced judge to Manhattan's Surrogate Court. I hope you will give me the opportunity to earn your support of my candidacy for the position of Manhattan's next Surrogate.
I am passionate for the law and committed to helping families resolve the most fundamental of life's issues with fairness and compassion. My extensive legal and judicial background and my commitment to service and community have prepared me for the crucial role of Surrogate.
The Surrogate oversees the administration of trusts, estates, guardianships, and adoptions -- dealing with some of life's most sensitive issues. As a judge for more than a decade, serving in the Criminal, Civil and Supreme Courts, I have dealt with many of the issues that commonly arise in the Surrogate's Court, from the distribution of assets to the untangling of thorny family matters. In my special assignment as a matrimonial trial judge, I decide custody issues with the compassion and sensitivity gained through a lifetime of experience.
I am very proud to announce that democratic clubs in every part of Manhattan have endorsed my candidacy, joining the long list of retired judges and political organizations. It is truly an honor to have the support of such wide-ranging groups of people from across Manhattan.
