A postdoctoral position is available to study the pathogenic mechanisms of Chlamydia trachomatis or Rickettsia rickettsii. Projects are available that focus on the molecular mechanisms used by these obligate intracellular pathogens to survive and replicate within eukaryotic cells. The successful candidates will develop and apply new and existing techniques such as live cell imaging, confocal microscopy, molecular biology, genomics, and protein biochemistry to study parasite-host cell interactions. Highly motivated candidates are encouraged to apply.

Requirements:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree (M.D., D.V.M., etc.), obtained within the last three years
Expertise in cell biology, molecular biology, or bacterial genetics
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
