President Obama has a tax plan to provide much-needed relief to struggling families. The Senate could begin debate on this measure as soon as next week - and it's up to us to support him.
All Congress has to do is extend the middle-class tax cuts that are set to expire at the end of the year. But Senate Republicans are holding things up.
The GOP's priorities are just wrong. They're more concerned with protecting the interests of the top 2% of earners and corporations that outsource our jobs than helping middle class families and seniors.

This is one more example of how extreme Republicans, like my opponent, are willing to sacrifice the needs of the vast majority just to protect their narrow, misguided ideology.
Extending this important legislation today will save a typical family of four about $2,200 a year. We shouldn't hold up an important tax cut for the middle-class because the GOP wants to protect the top 2% of wage earners.
If politics weren't taking over the agenda, we would be able to pass this common sense measure tomorrow, with broad bipartisan support.
Now is the time to speak up against the Republican agenda, before it starts defining the laws and policies that govern our nation. There's no time to lose.
