Yesterday, I filed a lawsuit to force the Bloomberg Administration to open up its accounting books and explain the City's soaring small business fines.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that fines in New York City have spiraled out-of-control, but this chart helps tell the story:
Fines have been increasing for so long it's become de facto City policy. We need answers about how this 'fine-first, ask questions later' enforcement is impacting our small businesses and their ability to survive in this economy.
