The Women in Housing and Finance will host a film screening at the IFC Film Center (323 Sixth Ave.) on Jan. 26, 2012. The film, "The Pruitt-Igoe Myth" explores the social, economic, and legislative issues in public housing. All proceeds from the film screening will benefit the NYCHA/CUNY Resident Scholarship Program. The NYCHA/CUNY Resident Scholarship Program awards $1,000 scholarships to qualifying New York City public housing residents to attend the City University of New York (CUNY). NYCHA-CUNY Resident Scholarship Program
NYCHA is committed to supporting our residents by offering them opportunities to further their education. There are two types of scholarships, the NYCHA-CUNY Resident Scholarship for residents who are full-time undergraduates at a City University of New York (CUNY) college, and the Regina A. Figueroa Memorial Scholarship for residents with disabilities who are enrolled in a CUNY undergraduate program.

PHADA Scholarship Program
You may be eligible to apply for college scholarships ranging from $1,000 up to $7,000 if you: Live in a NYCHA development of receive Section 8 housing assistance Are a college-bound high school senior Have a minimum B average

NYSPHADA Scholarship Program
In order to encourage academic excellence and community responsibility among high school students, NYSPHADA has implemented a scholarship program for graduating seniors who are preparing to enter higher level learning (defined as a 2-4 year college, trade school or formal certification program). NYSPHADA will award one (1) scholarship to a deserving youth currently residing in a NYSPHADA member agency.
