Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be responsible for the analysis of the legal, structural and credit aspects of CMBS transactions.

The position requires the detailed review of documents associated with CMBS transactions at both the property, loan, and deal levels, including complex loan documents, offering memoranda, pooling and servicing agreements and legal opinions. The candidate will be expected to attend committees and offer his or her analysis of the potential credit impact of the terms of CMBS loan and deal documents. The candidate will also be primarily responsible for rating transactions that have a significant document review component, such as credit tenant lease transactions. Other responsibilities include completing special projects, writing research reports, developing in-depth knowledge of the CMBS sector and pursuing thought leadership initiatives that enhance Moody's analytics and research.

Qualifications: Interested candidates must have a JD degree and at least three years of professional experience in commercial real estate or asset securitization law. Other requirements include excellent written and verbal communication skills, well developed analytical skills, proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, the ability to manage multiple projects and to work closely with others as well as independently to produce accurate, detailed work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Experience in structured finance is a plus, but not required.
