With less than a year until the 2012 elections, House Democrats have met or exceeded every goal we've set in our "Drive to 25" campaign to win the Majority. We have gone from a gale force wind against us to a sustained breeze at our backs. It's critical we maintain our momentum by electing Democrat Suzanne Bonamici in the Special Election for Oregon's 1st district.
Democrats are taking nothing for granted and it's a priority for our Party to help ensure Suzanne Bonamici wins. The Independent Party of Oregon recently nominated Suzanne and she will be on the ballot as a Democrat and Independent.
Her Republican opponent is on the air attacking her, but she will fight back with the truth and spread her positive message if she has the resources available. With ballots being mailed in just over a week, television response time is short.
There is a clear choice in this special election. Suzanne Bonamici has spent her life as a champion for the middle class, consumers, and seniors. She is focused on creating jobs, strengthening small businesses, and protecting Medicare and Social Security. Her Tea Party Republican opponent Rob Cornilles has the wrong priorities. At a time when we must reduce the deficit through shared sacrifice, Rob Cornilles supports cutting Social Security and Medicare, college funding, and worker training to protect tax cuts for billionaires.
Thank you,
