STOP POLLUTING OUR AIR!

public_citizen_banner_nyreblog_com_.jpgLucas,

One critical step to breaking our dangerous oil dependence and address global warming is by strengthening fuel efficiency and pollution standards for vehicles.

The Obama administration has proposed new fuel efficiency and emissions standards for vehicles sold between 2017 and 2025.

These standards would save consumers billions of dollars at the pump and prevent millions of tons of global warming from polluting our air.

Tell the Obama administration to move forward with strong clean car standards.

Automakers have the technology to make all new cars, trucks and SUVs cleaner. But implementation of the best available technology is threatened by automakers and their allies, who are working behind the scenes to weaken the standards with loopholes that could increase pollution and oil dependence.

The Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Transportation are accepting public comments on the proposed standards until February 13. They need to hear from citizens like you, not just industry lobbyists.

Join Public Citizen in supporting the proposed standards and advocating to keep loopholes from weakening them.

Tell the Obama administration to move forward with strong clean car standards and oppose harmful industry-backed loopholes.
