On Tuesday, December 11, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz will join State Senator John Sampson, Assemblyman Nick Perry and other local community leaders and elected officials to host a special community meeting focusing on helping Brooklynites with rebuilding their homes and recovering in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.
Specialists from various state and city agencies will be in attendance to answer residents' rebuilding questions, specifically focusing on:
- NYC Rapid Repair Program
- Hazard mitigation
- Mold removal
- How to hire a reputable contractor and avoid scams
