I've written to you before about Obama's troubles in Michigan and now they are front and center. Obama cannot win re-election and the Democrats cannot retain a majority in the Senate without winning Michigan. If we win Michigan, we'll sweep the White House and the Senate!
I'm Pete Hoekstra, and earlier this month I won my Republican primary for U.S. Senate by more than 20pts here in Michigan. Voters are uniting and Obama is in trouble. This week, the first poll since my primary showed that Romney/Ryan are beating Obama/Biden, and I'm beating Obama's trusted ally, liberal Senator Debbie Stabenow.
My primary win and Paul Ryan joining Romney on the Republican ticket made a huge impact. We have a 2pt lead and Mitt is ahead by 4. Michigan is poised to propel a Republican sweep of the White House and the Senate. Michigan, Mitt Romney's home state, will be the answer for 2012.
Conservatives and independents agree that we need solutions to spur the American Comeback. The Democrats' divisive rhetoric isn't the answer. Excuses and blame are not going to turn America around. Just like Romney and Ryan, I'm focused on solutions. As a member of the House Budget Committee, I helped pass four consecutive balanced budgets that led to the first budget surplus in 30 years. This is a stark contrast to the four consecutive trillion dollar deficits that Stabenow is now responsible for as a member of the Senate Budget Committee. This is why the polls are shifting.
