Dear Lucas,
This week, Congress did something many of us wouldn't mind doing ourselves. They went on vacation... a five week vacation. But unlike many of us, when they took a break, they left a great deal of urgent business unfinished.
Over a year ago, Congress agreed to reduce the deficit, and scheduled $109 billion in automatic cuts if the deal isn't kept. Many are calling this going off the "fiscal cliff." At a time when many workers still lack quality jobs, when our schools are losing teachers and programs, and when trust in government is at an historic low, members of Congress should do the jobs that taxpayers pay them to do.
Please contribute to my campaign so we can elect leaders who won't quit until the job is done.
No successful small business owner in America would take a five week paid vacation before making critical decisions about their economic future.
With your contribution, I will do the work that taxpayers expect and deserve.
Thank you for your support.
