NYC Rules Updates ~ Wednesday, August 22, 2012

The following NYC Rules update includes: (1) all City agency proposed rules posted to NYC Rules that remain open for written public comment, (2) adopted rules that took effect during the previous week, (3) adopted rules soon taking effect, and (4) agency regulatory agendas for fiscal year 2013 posted to the NYC Rules website.

Proposed Rules Open for Written Public Comment

• Taxi of Tomorrow with Lease Caps (TLC) - Written comments must be submitted by Thursday, September 6.
• Amendment Relating to Pedestrian Traffic Managers (DOT) - Written comments must be submitted by Friday, September 7.
• ** Owner must drive and enforcement cleanup (TLC) - Written comments must be submitted by Thursday, September 18.

Adopted Rules That Took Effect During the Previous Week

• Accessible Taxicab Vehicles (TLC) - Rule took effect Saturday, August 18.
• Promulgation of Amendments to 3 RCNY 4601-01, Entitled "New and Amended Fees" (FDNY) - Rule took effect Monday, August 20.
• Use of Ultra-Low Sulfur Diesel Fuel and Emissions Control Technology on City Motor Vehicles (DEP) - Rule took effect Monday, August 20.
• Street Activity Permit Requirements and Processes (SAPO) - Rule took effect Monday, August 20.

Adopted Rules Soon Taking Effect

• New Storefronts in Historic Districts (LPC) - Rule takes effect Friday, August 24.
• Taxicab Fares (TLC) - Rule takes effect Tuesday, September 4.
• Fees for Non-Charitable Athletic Parades(NYPD) - Rule takes effect Friday, September 7.
• Lease Rates for Taxicabs (TLC) - Rule takes effect Sunday, September 30.
• **Apartment/Loft Guidelines Order No. 44 and Hotel Guidelines Order No. 42 (RGB) - Rule took effect Monday, October 1.
