FOUR!

Dear Lucas,

Four seats. That's all the GOP needs to control the Senate.

We know too well from the House GOP's shenanigans what that would mean. Repeal of the Affordable Care Act. Bigger tax cuts for millionaires funded by devastating cuts to Medicare and education. Endless attacks on women's health.

Senate Democrats are the last line of defense. Tammy Baldwin, Heidi Heitkamp, Shelley Berkley, and Mazie Hirono are locked in some of the country's tightest Senate races - and we'll need to win every single one to hold our majority. The polls are virtually tied.

With so much on the line, we must help them meet their critical August fundraising goals. We can't let them down. Can you help by contributing directly to their campaigns immediately?

Contribute right now to help Tammy, Heidi, Shelley, and Mazie - your donation will go directly to these candidates' campaigns.

- Republicans just nominated former President Bush HHS Secretary and Ryan budget-backer Tommy Thompson to oppose Tammy Baldwin, who would make history as the first openly gay U.S. Senator. Extremist groups like the Koch brothers' Super PAC have already spent $2.5 million attacking Tammy - and are poised to dump millions more.

- In North Dakota, Heidi Heitkamp has surged ahead of Rep. Rick Berg in some polls. But Karl Rove's Crossroads GPS and other right-wing groups have already spent $2.3 million on scurrilous attack ads, including one spot so egregious it had to be pulled from the air.

- Polling shows Shelley Berkley just three points behind Nevada Sen. Dean Heller, who famously said he was "proud" to have voted twice to end Medicare as we know it. This is one of Democrats' top take-back opportunities - but right-wing Super PACs have already spent $2.6 million attacking Shelley and show no signs of slowing.

- And Hawaii's Mazie Hirono has a shot at becoming the first Asian American woman to serve in the Senate. She currently leads former Gov. Linda Lingle, but the Republican and her right-wing allies are outspending Mazie nearly three-to-one.

Let me be blunt: we cannot let Republicans take control of the Senate to gut Medicare and Social Security and turn back the clock on women's rights. We must do everything we can to elect these four strong, progressive candidates and hold our Democratic firewall against the GOP's extreme agenda.

Click here to contribute to Tammy, Shelley, Heidi, and Mazie - with Senate control hanging in the balance, we don't have a moment to waste.

Thanks for your support,

Kirsten
