Dear Lucas,
Congress is at work on the 2012 Farm Bill.
You may be thinking, so what? Well, the Farm Bill includes funding for critical federal nutrition programs like SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), formerly known as food stamps, that help feed hungry kids. And that's why I'm writing to you today.
Drastic cuts to SNAP are on the table for the Farm Bill and nearly half of all SNAP participants are children. If Congress cuts funding for this poverty relieving program, it will affect millions of children and families, leaving them even more vulnerable to hunger.
Will you speak up for children right now, asking your members of Congress to protect SNAP from devastating cuts? Please contact your members of Congress now and urge them to protect SNAP and the kids who rely on this program.
Federal nutrition programs like SNAP are vital to helping struggling families put food on the table. The proposed funding cuts would mean more hungry kids in America. I can't stand for that and I hope neither will you.
Please take a minute to contact your members of Congress using our simple online tool and urge them to stand up for our nation's kids by protecting federal nutrition programs. They need to hear from you, loud and clear.
Thank you for taking action on this very important issue.
Sincerely,
Billy Shore
