NYC SAFE Disposal Events (Solvents, Automotive, Flammable, Electronics)

The NYC Department of Sanitation is holding five SAFE Disposal Events this spring (one in each borough) to provide NYC residents with a one-stop method to get rid of potentially harmful household products . If you cannot attend any of the events, see tips & alternatives .

Who Can Participate
Only NYC residential waste will be accepted at these NYC SAFE events (no business or institutional waste permitted). No commercial vehicles allowed. Residents MUST provide proof of NYC residency.

When & Where
All events will be held from 10am to 4pm (rain or shine).

Sunday April 22 10am-4pm	Manhattan	Union Square, North Plaza south of 17th St between Park Ave & Broadway cars enter at Park Ave & 18th St
Saturday April 28 10am-4pm	Queens	St. John's University, Alumni Hall Parking Lot corner of Utopia Parkway & Union Turnpike cars enter at gate 3 on Union Turnpike & 175 St
Sunday May 6 10am-4pm	Brooklyn	Prospect Park, Park Circle corner of Parkside Ave & Prospect Park SW cars enter from Parkside Ave
Saturday May 12 10am-4pm	Bronx	Lehman College, South Lot on Goulden Ave, south of Bedford Park Blvd West
Saturday May 19 10am-4pm	Staten Island	Staten Island Mall, Parking Lot F near main entrance, 2655 Richmond Ave

What to Bring
Items accepted include auto fluids, batteries, electronics, glues, medications, paint products, and more. When deciding what items to bring, look for products labeled with the following signal words: DANGER, WARNING, or CAUTION. Products labeled DANGER represent the highest hazard level. Please also bring any other materials stored in your home that you know may be harmful.

Event Organizers
These events are organized and funded by the DSNY Bureau of Waste Prevention, Reuse and Recycling . Electronics recycling is fully funded by a consortium of electronics manufacturers.
