Dear Lucas,
I get a firsthand view every day as a veteran, as a woman, and as a Democrat running for Congress. Every single day I get to see how Republicans and their Tea Party allies are fighting to turn women's rights as far back as they can go.
I saw it from my opponent when he said I wasn't qualified to serve in Congress, even after everything I've sacrificed for my country. I saw it from the GOP chairman when he compared women to insects. Insects!
But I also hear the rumblings on the campaign trail from women who are ready to make 2012 our year -- the ones who are ready to flood Congress with pro-choice Democratic women who will fight for them. They know, like you do, that EMILY's List is the organization with the resources and experience to make it a reality.

Here's something else I get to see every day: just how effective EMILY's List is. Their help was critical to my primary victory just last month. I know that come November, they will make the difference between winning and losing, not just for me, but for women running across the country.
I can't make this the Year of the Woman by myself. We need a wave of victories that put powerful champions into Congress -- women like Val Demings from Florida, Annie Kuster from New Hampshire, and Christie Vilsack from Iowa. And let's make sure we keep the incumbent women already fighting for us, like Ohio's Betty Sutton and California's Lois Capps, in office.
Together, we can ensure that women have the powerful voice in Congress that we deserve. But we can't do it without EMILY's List, and EMILY's List can't do it without you.
Your contribution will help elect pro-choice Democratic women to Congress. It's that simple, so click here to give today.
Thank you for everything you've done for my campaign. You made such a difference in my primary race, and it means so much to know that I have this amazing community, spread all across the country, supporting my campaign.
Sincerely,
Tammy Duckworth
