Dear Friend,
This Sunday, New Yorkers will take time to reflect on the anniversary of the September 11th tragedies. Although ten years have now passed, time has not diminished our memory of that terrible September day when our city was suddenly attacked.
We send out our thoughts and prayers to the families of the victims and to our city's heroes--the brave police officers, firefighters and first responders who risked their lives to save others from this unspeakable tragedy.
This Sunday is a time of solemn remembrance, but we can all take heart in the rebuilding at the World Trade Center and National September 11 Memorial that now welcomes visitors for the first time. Our city's recovery is a testament to the strength and resilience of New Yorkers, and what we can accomplish when we stand together.
Across the City, countless events have been scheduled to mark the September 11th anniversary. My office has assembled a list of some of these memorials and community events which include volunteer opportunities, concerts, vigils and more.

If you or someone you know is experiencing trauma or anxiety related to the September 11th anniversary, free support is available by calling the 9/11 Healing and Remembrance Program at 1-866-212-0444.
Thanks,
