"Kudos to GQ for recognizing in its new issue what Brooklynites already knew: Brooklyn is the 'Coolest City on the Planet.' Of course, this is not the first time a major publication has praised all that is great about Brooklyn: in 2007, Lonely Planet named our 'city' one of the world's top travel destinations; last year, National Geographic urged its readers to come to Brooklyn for its 'cool shops, pop-up art galleries and authentic eats'; earlier this year, Condé Nast proclaimed Brooklyn one of the top 15 places to see in the world; and just this past month, Travel and Leisure hailed Brooklyn Heights as one of America's most beautiful neighborhoods, the only in New York City to make the cut.
