LOOK WHAT BIG BUSINESS COOKED UP

public_citizen_banner_nyreblog_com_.jpgLucas,

Soon, the U.S. House of Representatives will vote on a pair of bills that Big Business cooked up to further rig our government in their favor.

They're the Regulatory Accountability Act and the Regulations from the Executive in Need of Scrutiny ("REINS") Act, and they're a corporate lobbyist's dream come true.

Learn more from our blog about these dangerous deregulatory bills, and leave a comment to let us know what you think.

Many members of Congress have bought into the falsehood that it's just too expensive for us to protect our communities from pollution, financial devastation, exploitation, and unsafe food and consumer products.

Such claims come from Big Business' propaganda machine, and have nothing to do with cost or jobs.

In recent years, nothing has been more costly for the American public than the lack of regulation over Wall Street, which has cost taxpayers trillions of dollars and devastated families and communities.

If anything, the public's ability to hold reckless industries accountable should be strengthened, not weakened.
