The ABA Standing Committee on Law and National Security; the Center for National Security Law at the University of Virginia School of Law; the Center on Law, Ethics and National Security at Duke University School of Law; and the Center on National Security and the Law at Georgetown Law, proudly announce the "21st Annual Review of the Field of National Security Law" -- Thursday and Friday, December 1 and 2, 2011, in Salons I and II, Ballroom Level, of the Ritz Carlton Hotel, 1150 22nd Street, NW in Washington, DC.

We will open with the Executive Branch panel featuring general counsels from the key national security agencies followed by the panel devoted to congressional updates on developments in national security law.  Additional panels on Kosovo, Libya and Presidential War Powers for Multilateral Humanitarian Interventions; Use of Force Decisions of the ICJ; the Uniform Code of Military Justice and its efficacy in war; Public but Classified: A System Awash in Open Secrets; and Ethics Challenges for National Security Lawyers will round out the
