Sports strategy is a head game, and it's fun - but there's another kind of head game, and it's dangerous. That's the risk of concussion. At the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Dr. Lisa McGuire:

"Each year, 200,000 children and adolescents up to the age of 19 are treated in emergency departments for sports-related concussions. This is an increase of 60 percent over previous estimates." (13 seconds)

McGuire says athletes suspected of having concussion should be out of the game immediately, and not return until a health care professional with experience in evaluating concussion has cleared them.

An article on sports-related concussions is in CDC's Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report.
