CHANGE

new york senate dems.jpgDear Lucas,

Last week, voters across the Empire State sent one message loud and clear -- New Yorkers want a government that fights for everyday New Yorkers and not the elite ! From the western reaches of Erie County to the eastern tip of Long Island in Suffolk, voters said:

  • Yes to fighting for the working class and no to tax breaks for the wealthy
  • Yes to a government that can balance its check book and no to massive deficits caused by giveaways to those who need them least
  • Yes to safeguarding our environment for future generations and no to corporate giveaways for the worst pollutersYes to reform and no to back room politics

But the work has just begun !

State Senate Democrats stand with Governor Cuomo in his effort to change the way business is done in Albany but the Senate GOP insists on shutting New Yorkers out. Just look at their refusal to honor their pledge on independent redistricting .

All over New York, families are struggling to make ends meet and small business owners are worried that they won't be able to make the next payroll . Meanwhile, Republicans in the State Senate continue to be concerned only with the needs of the wealthy few.

Election Day 2011 was a Democratic success story. Don't stop now! Let's continue the fight in 2012!

Join us as we work to put Democrats back in charge of the State Senate and put New Yorkers back in charge of their government.

Sincerely,
Mike Gianaris
Chair

P.S. Know any friends who might be interested in getting involved? Forward this e-mail to them so they can be a part of the movement too!
