On June 1st we're going to Albany to lobby for redistricting reform - and we need you to join us!
Through Citizens Union's redistricting reform coalition, ReShapeNY , groups from across the state have come together to end partisan gerrymandering and create a fair and independent process to draw legislative district lines. We now ask that you join us on Wednesday, June 1st in Albany for ReShapeNY's Lobby Day , at which citizen activists from across the state will rally in Albany and meet with their legislators to let them know that we need redistricting reform now.
Sign up now to attend this important lobby day. We will be providing transportation from several main locations, so please indicate on the form whether you will provide your own transportation or will need access to a bus. Lunch will also be provided. You will be contacted with further details regarding the day's activities and confirmation as to whether a bus will be departing from your area. With the end of the legislative session approaching, it is important to let our legislators know that they have unfinished business - creating an independent redistricting commission to draw lines before the 2012 elections. Your presence in Albany will let legislators know that New Yorkers care about redistricting reform, and want to see change now.
