DANCIN' IN THE RAIN

00314367.jpgOn a rainy, snowy morning, Palma Milano had an appointment at the Staten Island University Hospital (SIUH).

As she approached the reception desk, Palma stepped off a carpeted area and slipped on a linoleum floor. While she didn't see anything prior to her fall, Palma claimed she later caught sight of a watery, snowy mixture and dirty footprints on the ground.

After the Richmond County Supreme Court dismissed her case, she appealed.

While the hospital may not have known of the watery condition at the time of the lady's accident, because SIUH knew the area in question was prone to becoming "wet and dangerous during periods of inclement weather," the Appellate Division, Second Department, reversed and reinstated the lawsuit.

There was no Palma-ing off Milano.
