A VIGIL TO END VIOLENCE

For Anthony Collao:

A Vigil to Remember and End Violence

Hosted by Family, Friends and Community Allies

THURSDAY, MARCH 24TH 2011 FROM 7-9PM

At 88-20 90th Street (between Jamaica and 88th Avenues)

In Woodhaven, Queens (J/Z to Woodhaven Blvd.)

Anthony Collao died on Monday, March 14th due to an alleged anti-gay attack. Collao was at a party given by two openly-gay individuals, but did not identify as gay.

His death reminds us that homophobia affects everyone, not just those in LGBTQH (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer and HIV-affected) communities.

This Thursday, March 24th, Anthony's family, friends and community allies will honor his memory. We stand in solidarity with all affected by hate, and also know that we must shift the culture that creates this.

Join us as we keep Anthony in our hearts and move forward to end Violence.

Co-Sponsors: New York City Council Speaker Christine C. Quinn, the NYC Anti-Violence Project, LGBTQ Justice Project/Make the Road NY, FIERCE, the LGBT Community Center, Councilmembers Daniel Dromm and Jimmy Van Bramer, Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer, Generation Q/Queens Community House

Rain location for Vigil:

Volunteer Ambulance Corps at 78-15 Jamaica Avenue (between 78th and 79th Streets) in Woodhaven, Queens (J/Z  to Woodhaven Boulevard).
