Dear Lucas,
I have five friends who need your help today. They are pro-choice, Democratic women running in the upcoming special elections against the Republican senators who stood with Governor Scott Walker as he tried to strip state workers of their rights to bargain and tear apart Wisconsin's schools.
Our women candidates are teachers, mothers, and community leaders, and they're already under attack by radical right-wing groups. The Club for Growth, a national organization that supports only the most conservative Republican candidates, has already started to air attack ads against our EMILY's List-endorsed women.
We must help them -- today -- by getting Wisconsin WOMEN VOTE! ads up on the air right away -- but we need to raise $25,000 by June 30 to do it.
You can have a powerful impact on these five races. You can help defend these brave women from the attacks being leveled against them. Most important -- you can help them win.
No one knows better than I do what a difference women working together can make. All of you made the difference for me when I faced a tough race. I'm in Congress today because of your efforts, and now I need you to turn your attention to winning these vitally important races here in Wisconsin.
Our Governor has a reckless and dangerous plan that will hurt our economy. That's what happens when you go after middle-class families. And while I'm fighting for jobs in Washington every day, I can tell you that everyone in our nation's capital is looking to see what happens to Scott Walker and the Republican senators who supported him. What happens in these special recall elections will have enormous national implications -- there is no more important fight going on in our country right now. And it's up to you to make a difference.
I couldn't be more proud to be from Wisconsin and to have witnessed the awe-inspiring efforts of so many people to protect the rights of workers and families. I am committed to fighting this battle until we win, and I know I can count on you to join me.
Thank you for all your help.
Sincerely,
Cong. Tammy Baldwin
