Sojourner House at PathStone is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing individuals and families in need with shelter, structure, strength, and inspiration. We assist homeless women and their children in developing stable, independent and productive lives by providing transitional housing with intensive case management and life-skills training in a safe and supportive environment. When they move from our transitional housing to permanent residences, many of our residents are employed, enrolled in job training or getting an education. We also provide permanent, supportive housing to assist homeless individuals and their families in living independently and successfully achieving self-sufficiency. We make a substantial difference in the lives of these families by providing an opportunity to break the cycle of poverty and substance abuse.
I am the new President of Sojourner House and I accepted this responsibility with a sense of pride and determination. Please help me accomplish our mission.
The Daisy Marquis Jones Foundation has historically supported our efforts and, this year, has again agreed to do so in the form of a "challenge grant." They are giving us $2 for every private $1 we raise (up to $50,000). You have heard about the substantial government funding cuts, your donation will help us in bridging any funding gaps created by efforts to balance municipal budgets in these difficult times.
