BP MARKOWITZ LOWERS BROOKLYN FLAG AT BOROUGH HALL IN HONOR OF BROWNSVILLE'S LANCE CPL. JABARI THOMPSON, KILLED IN AFGHANISTAN
"Brooklyn extends its deepest condolences to the family, friends and fellow Marines of Lance Cpl. Jabari Thompson of Brownsville, who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation while serving in Afghanistan. Lance Cpl. Thompson was wounded in Afghanistan's Helmand Province while reportedly attempting to save a comrade. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. We grieve with Lance Cpl. Thompson's loved ones and hope they will be comforted by the prayers and thoughts of millions of Brooklynites, New Yorkers and Americans grateful for his valiant service."
