A Second Helping of Life
This year, SHARE is celebrating 35 years of providing peer-support services to those affected by breast or ovarian cancer. For those directly impacted, we provide multi-lingual hotlines, support groups and educational programs, as well as a Survivor Patient Navigator program in two local public hospitals. SHARE also includes public education programs such as the Pink & Teal Corporate Seminar program and our Novela (a comic-book style publication) on breast health for the Hispanic/Latino community.
A Second Helping of Life provides funding that enables SHARE to provide our unique peer-led support services that are free of charge to tens of thousands of women and men. In the last seven years this event has helped raise nearly $2.5 million dollars. Your generous support is crucial to helping us continue to play an instrumental role in the lives of those affected by breast or ovarian cancer.
We are thrilled that the talented Food Network star Alexandra Guarnaschelli, chef of Butter Restaurant and The Darby, has agreed to serve as Executive Chef for her second term. Amy Scherber, Rebecca Charles and Anita Lo will serve as Executive Chefs Emeritus, and Abigail Kirsch with Alison Awerbuch will once again honor SHARE as Culinary Chairs.
