GRAVY FOR TORKIEH?

eyes_photo_nyreblog_com_.JPGWhen STI Enterprises (STIE) didn't pay Altschul & Altschul for legal work, the lawfirm sued STIE and Jacques Torkieh--an STIE employee.

After the New York County Civil Court granted the lawyers' request for fees, STIE and Torkieh appealed to the Appellate Term, First Department.

Because the company never objected to its legal bill, the judgment against STIE was affirmed. Torkieh, on the other hand, wasn't responsible for the charges because he hadn't agreed to be personally liable for that debt.

No STIE in Torkieh's eye.
