When I first took office as New York City's Public Advocate over a year ago, I promised you a set of priorities that would reflect my values: giving the people a real voice at City Hall, fighting for more transparency and efficiency in government and advocating for the needs of our City's most vulnerable.
Beginning a new year as Public Advocate has given me much to look back on, and much more to look forward to in the years ahead.
This has only been the beginning. We can and must do so much more to continue to make our City a better place and give all New Yorkers a brighter future.
