Dear Lucas, Republicans promised to create jobs. But instead, they are pushing to undermine women's health. Their "No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act" severely restricts a woman's right to choose, and this egregious invasion of privacy is something we all need to be concerned about. H.R. 3 inserts government into women's health care issues -- denying women access to much-needed medical services and putting their lives in danger. On the heels of GOP attempts to repeal the health care reform bill and even redefine rape, this is an all-out effort to undermine women and their families. When the Republicans tried to take our health care away, we fought back. Now it's time to do it again. We all have a duty to respond quickly and forcefully to this intrusion on our personal lives. So please join us in telling Speaker Boehner and the rest of the House Republicans that we will not tolerate their aggressive stance against the rights of women. Republicans claim that they want to keep government out of people's lives. But the one place where they insist on asserting their authority is in the lives of women. They've been in power only a few weeks, and yet the Republicans have already made depriving women of the medical care they need and deserve one of their primary goals. We believe that women's health care decisions that affect their lives and their family should not be infringed upon by John Boehner and his GOP cohorts. If you agree, then please stand with us today.
