Haile Rivera Urges Assembly Speaker to Include Latinos in the Assembly Leadership - AGAIN

Haile Rivera, who has made a crusade demanding Speaker Sheldon Silver to include Latinos in posts within the Leadership of the State Assembly, is calling on Speaker Silver to stop discriminating Latinos in the Assembly.

"Once again, two years after I began calling on Speaker Silver to consider a Latino/a for one of the posts in the Leadership, Speaker Silver continues to fail Latinos in the State of New York. Eleven Whites, Seven Blacks and ONLY 2 Latinos in the Leadership? Is Speaker Silver serious? Has he forgotten that there are more than 3 million Latinos in New York State? I'm calling, AGAIN, for Speaker Silver to STOP DISCRIMNATING Latinos and diversify the Assembly Leadership immediately. Peter Rivera and Noemi Rivera, to my knowledge, are not the only Latinos worthy of being part of the Leadership," expressed Rivera.
