If House Republicans refuse to compromise on this payroll tax extension, taxes will go up on the middle class on January 1st.
Worse yet, Republicans are packing up their bags and going home rather than staying in Washington to do the hard work and get this thing done.
As President Obama said the other day, "This is not a game." The clock is ticking and time is running out.
