Dear Lucas,
Four years ago Wall Street bankers destroyed our economy after recklessly gambling with homes and our livelihoods. Then they looted our Treasury for bailouts and bonuses while their 1% allies used the economic chaos as an excuse to rob us of the investments we've made in helping every New Yorker achieve the American Dream.
Across NY the 99% are standing together to say, "Enough is enough." We demand an economy that works for all of us. That's why NYCC members are coming together to build a 99% economy. And we're starting with the problem at the heart of the economic collapse -foreclosure - by taking back our homes.
Will you stand up for a 99% Economy and take the pledge to defend our homes and neighborhoods today?
It's just not right that thousands of New York families are facing the holiday season without a place to call home; especially, when there are so many foreclosed homes throughout New York sitting vacant and uncared for.
Even though Wall Street banks crashed the economy and created the foreclosure crisis, they got bailouts. Even as they caused massive unemployment and are on track to foreclose on 13 million families across the United States, they continue to wield a disproportionate amount of power over our elected officials. But we're not going to take it anymore.
On December 6th the 99% are joining together for a national day of action to kick off a campaign based on the simple premise the banks caused the economic crisis, and it's their responsibility to fix it. And until they fix the problems they created, we're not giving up our homes.
The 1% doesn't understand that it's wrong to have keep homes empty while so many families don't have a roof over their heads. But the rest of us do. That's why we're protecting families who are bravely standing in defense of their home. Join us by taking the pledging to defend our homes and neighborhoods. Click here to take the pledge.
Let's take back New York, one home at a time. Click here and pledge to defend our homes and neighborhoods.
Best,
