HE GOT BUMPED OFF

speed_bump_photo_nyreblog_com_.JPGWhile biking to work, Vincent Buccino hit a speed bump at the entrance to Pier 94, and was injured.

After his personal-injury case against the City of New York was thrown out by the New York County Supreme Court, Buccino appealed.

Because the speed bump was "plainly observable," and didn't pose any unreasonable risks, the Appellate Division, First Department, affirmed the dismissal. (It didn't help the guy's case that he frequently biked to work, used the identical route, and was familiar with its layout.)

That was some bump in the road.
