Saturday and Sunday, August 20-21: Michael Arenella and the Dreamland Orchestra Present the Jazz Age Lawn Party, 11 AM to 5 PM
Michael Arenella and His Dreamland Orchestra will cast a magical spell of hot jazz and open-air merriment that will delight the whole family. This Jazz Age Lawn Party brings you back in time to the 1920s for a rollicking and delightful afternoon rendezvous of live music and dance, instruction in period dances, picnicking, and games. Mark di Suvero at Governors Island: Presented by Storm King Art Center, May 27 -- September 25
The exhibition is the largest outdoor presentation of Mark di Suvero's sculptures to be shown in New York City since the 1970s and includes loans from public and private collections, including a number of sculptures from Storm King's own celebrated installation of the artist's work. Governors Island Ferry Schedule
Free ferries run from Manhattan on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Ferries leave from the Battery Maritime Building (10 South Street, adjacent to the Staten Island Ferry Terminal).
On Fridays, ferries leave from Manhattan every hour on the hour from 10 AM to 3 PM. Ferries return to Manhattan every hour on the half hour, with the last ferry returning at 5 PM.
On Saturdays and Sundays, ferries from Manhattan leave at 10 AM, 11 AM, and then every half hour until 5:30 PM. Ferries return from Governors Island every half hour, with the last ferry returning to Manhattan at 7 PM.
Free ferries run from Brooklyn Bridge Park's new Pier 6 every Saturday and Sunday. The ride is a quick three minutes, so ferries run continuously from 11 AM to 5:20 PM. Ferries run continuously back to Pier 6 from 11:10 AM to 7:00 PM. Pier 6, Brooklyn Bridge Park is located at the foot of Atlantic Avenue at the corner of Atlantic Avenue and Furman Street.
There is a new way to get to Governors Island from Brooklyn and Queens!
Take the new East River Ferry Service on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
This is how it works:
ON FRIDAYS you CAN come to Governors Island from Brooklyn Bridge Park. Ferries leave every 40 minutes from Fulton Ferry Landing (at the end of Old Fulton Street) and Pier 6 (at the foot of Atlantic Avenue) in Brooklyn Bridge Park.
One-way fare is $4.

ON SATURDAYS AND SUNDAYS you can come to Governors Island from Queens and Brooklyn. Ferries leave every 35 minutes from:
- Hunters Point South/Long Island City
- India St./Greenpoint
- N. 6th Street/N. Williamsburg
- Schaefer Landing/S. Williamsburg
- Fulton Ferry Landing/DUMBO
- Pier 6 in Brooklyn Bridge Park
