JIMMY'S BACK TO SCHOOL DRIVE

Dear Friends,

For most children, the beginning of a new school year means new clothes, new shoes and a new backpack filled with fresh supplies. But thousands of other kids across the City begin the school year without these necessary items. And with the economy still slow, some parents just don't have the money to buy the supplies their children need to start the school year. That is why we are once again launching a district-wide school supply drive.

During last year's School Supplies Drive, over 6,000 school supplies were collected from donations made by members of the community and local business owners. Thanks to their generosity, many children in our local schools had the appropriate tools needed to succeed. This year's School Supply Drive will once again have drop off points in our district's Queens Library branches.

All supplies will go directly to students in need at local schools. Donations can also be dropped off at my District Office located on 47-01 Queens Blvd. Suite 205 Sunnyside, NY 11104 between the hours of 9AM-6PM (Mon-Friday) until Friday, September 16th.

For your convenience, supplies can also be dropped off at the following neighborhood libraries:

We will be collecting new packets of pens, pencils, backpacks, lunchboxes, binders, loose-leaf paper, folders, glue sticks, index cards, protractors, notebooks, graphing paper, rulers, calculators, markers, highlighters, crayons, watercolor paints or any other school-type product you can donate.

At the close of the drive, we will deliver the supplies collected to local school children. Thank you for helping to provide children with the necessary tools to excel in the classroom.
Sincerely,

Jimmy Van Bramer
Council Member, District 26
