Creative Time's very own Chief Curator Nato Thompson, the man behind our upcoming Living as Form exhibition, presents "Socially Engaged Art Outside the Bounds of an Artistic Discipline," a public talk on Tuesday, August 2 from 6:30 - 8pm at Cooper Union's Rose Auditorium (41 Cooper Square, New York City)The talk will explore the challenge of defining what constitutes "art" and "activism" in relation to Living as Form, Creative Time's fall exhibition exploring over 20 years of cultural works that emphasize participation, dialogue, and community engagement at the Lower East Side's historic Essex Street Market. The talk, co-presented by the Cooper Union School of Art, will be followed by an open discussion with the audience, moderated by artist and educator Doug Ashford.The talk is free and open to the public.
