Reception and Panel Discussion

Register here to attend this event.
This reception and panel discussion will commemorate the tenth anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, which had a profound effect on the law and lawyers in New York City.
Ten years later and ten blocks north of Ground Zero, distinguished speakers will share their reflections and unique perspectives, addressing topics including: the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund as a model for future publicly funded compensation programs; civil liberties, law enforcement, and national security in a post-9/11 world; legal issues arising from the rebuilding at Ground Zero and New York City's response to more than 10,000 lawsuits filed against the city as a result of the attacks; and the effect of the attacks on a law firm that was located in the World Trade Center's North Tower. The panel discussion will be followed by Q&A with the audience. The speakers' reflections will be published in a forthcoming issue of the New York Law School Law Review. Free registration will be available from this page in August 2011. CLE credit will be available.
