Attack ads, money pouring in from GOP front groups, and relentless spokespeople like Sarah Palin -- it's as rough as it gets. But it's no surprise.
I was on the front lines working as the White House press secretary in 1994 when the Republicans took control of Congress. They're using the same playbook today, but there's a troubling difference.
This year's crop of GOP's star candidates is even more extreme than Newt Gingrich's Republican Revolutionaries.
