VAN BRAMER NEEDS SCHOOL SUPPLIES

Council Member Jimmy Van Bramer -- District 26

Dear Friends,

For most children, the beginning of a new school year means new clothes, new shoes and a new backpack filled with fresh supplies. But thousands of other kids across the City begin the school year without these necessary items. And with the economy still slow, some parents just don't have the money to buy the supplies their children need to start the school year.

This year I am launching a local School Supply Drive to collect new school supplies for children in need.

We will be collecting new packets of pens, pencils, backpacks, lunchboxes, binders, loose-leaf paper, folders, glue sticks, index cards, protractors, notebooks, graphing paper, rulers, calculators, markers, highlighters, crayons, watercolor paints or any other school-type product you can donate.

All supplies will go directly to students in need at local schools. Any donation, big or small, will be greatly appreciated. Donations can be dropped off at my District Office on 47-01 Queens Blvd. Suite 205 Sunnyside, NY 11104 between the hours of 10-6PM (Mon-Friday) until Friday, September 17th.

For your convenience, supplies can also be dropped off at the following neighborhood libraries:

NOTE: There will be drop off boxes on site.

At the close of the drive, we will deliver the supplies collected to local school children. Thank you for helping to provide children with the necessary tools to excel in the classroom.

Sincerely,

Jimmy Van Bramer
