PFLAG NYC Safe Schools Program:

PFLAG NYC's first and most important mission has been to protect the safety and welfare of all LGBT children. Giving families and other allies a voice to speak out for the civil rights of LGBT loved ones, PFLAG NYC provides support for families and LGBT people, education on LBGT issues, and advocacy for full equality.
While working to help families embrace and love their children through support programs, PFLAG NYC has made the Safe Schools Program a top priority to reach the up to 100,000 students who are LGBT and often struggle to find acceptance. In the last year, PFLAG NYC has doubled the reach of this extraordinary program, reaching more students than ever before and helping reduce the incidence of academic, health, and social problems among LGBT youth.
Join us for a very special evening as we celebrate the growing Safe Schools Program and recognize several who have contributed to making society safer for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender youth.
