I don't have to tell you that this is an important election year. Now more than ever, we need to come out in support of our most progressive leaders, and that is why I am supporting Eric Schneiderman to be our next Attorney General and Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney in tomorrow's primary.
Carolyn Maloney, our representative in New York's 14th Congressional District, has been one of the major forces behind the Democrats' string of successes since President Obama took office, including Health Care Reform and Wall Street Reform. In endorsing Carolyn, the New York Times wrote that she "has been a stalwart in fighting for women's rights, financial reform, health care for workers at ground zero and better protections for credit card users."
Eric has fought as an attorney, activist and lawmaker to deliver equal justice for all New Yorkers. That is why the New York Times, the Albany Times Union, The Nation Magazine, the Amsterdam News, Gay City News, and El Diario have all decided to endorse his candidacy, joining hundreds of elected officials and progressive organizations throughout the state.
Tomorrow we have a real chance to elect two true progressives. This is an opportunity we simply cannot afford to miss. We need elected officials who are strong, smart and tough. Eric Schneiderman and Carolyn Maloney are just that.
Every single vote has the potential to determine the outcome of these races. So, when you go to the polls, vote for Eric Schneiderman for Attorney General and Carolyn Maloney for Congress.
